Neural network technology is rapidly advancing in its ability to synthesize new content, whether that be videos, images, audio or text, that is at times almost indistinguishable from human-authored content. This talk will provide an overview of state-of-the-art technical capabilities, followed by a discussion of ethical and practical implications for journalism.
