Rector Dag Rune Olsen Opened the ViSmedia Conference

In his speech he reminded us all of the importance of understanding and seeking knowledge about new technology. Olsen emphasized that the research on new technology is significant and that tech-developers should aim for a high ethical awareness, to ensure that the new technologies are being used in a responsible way.
“ A.I. has many practical purposes for society, but it is also immensely important for us scientists and researchers. With the computing power and creative use of A.I. we can open many closed doors. However, as with many modern advances, there are risks and challenges. While these vary greatly, all show that one thing is required: responsibility. ”
