Topics such as migration maps and mojo journalism were discussed when the ViSmedia researchers and graduate students met for the annual Fall Research

Seminar.

This two-day seminar was held at the Solstrand Hotel outside of Bergen at the end of August. Four professors came all the way from the United States and Finland.

The presentations spanned topis such as user generated visual news in social media via drone research, 360 video, algorithmic accountability, and AI. The six graduate students who participated got valuable help from experienced mentors, and were very grateful to be part of a larger research group.

On Day 2, all participants engaged in a workshop where they worked on the collaborative vision and further developed their ViSmedia projects.

ViSmedia’s special adviser Åke Refsdal Moe from the Norwegian Board of Technology contributed with a presentation on deliberation and responsiveness from an RRI perspective.
